Winter Blah. . .

We have been trying to get out of a winter blah around here.So daddy did this. . .

The kids were thrilled. Miss A and I "slept out" the other night. What fun!
Yesterday I made the green basket
and today the brown one.

They came together very quickly and I can see more in my future. All the fabric I bought from a "stuff as much as you can into this bag" pile of scraps. Being a newbie to the sewing world I don't have very many scraps so I kinda like that kind of shopping.

Log Cabin Quilt

I finished this log cabin quilt a few weeks ago. It is baby size. Crazy Mom Quilts has a great tutorial on how to piece one together. I love how it turned out.

It's back. . .

After having several days of nice weather ( we even saw the sun a couple of days), we are back to snow.

I saw these cute snowflakes on Flipflops and Applesauce. All you need is liquid glue, q-tips and glitter.

Connect the q-tips on wax paper or a baking mat. . .

Put LOTS of glue on the "joints" of the snowflake. . .

Sprinkle with glitter. . .

And let dry for several days. . .

and hopefully this will be our last winter craft!

Thanks Miss J!

My 6 year old niece made this beautiful sachet bag for her favorite Aunt! ( OK - she made them for all her Aunts and her Nana too)

Look at the awesome sewing job did -

Way to go J!

She also painted this pretty picture on a bar of soap (it is one of those that the image shouldn't wash off - we will see). Thank you so much!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Don't these look delicious! Well they aren't!
I decided to make the kids this Chocolate Playdough for Valentine's Day. O it smells so yummy! Now I will have to convince them not to eat it, but with one taste I am sure they will get the picture!

Yesterday we made these hearts. . .

They were so simple for Miss A and they turned so cute!

We are invited to a Valentine's Party for the kids so I thought I would make these sour cream containers. I filled them with Valentine goodies.

And lastly, I was in charge of a craft project for the kids. I think they will enjoy making these.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

O is for. . .

At Miss A's preschool they talked about the letter O so I thought we would change up our day and have an O day at the house. We cut out O shapes and put oatmeal on them. . .

Then we had an O lunch with orange jello, orange cheese, olives, oatmeal, O's, oranges and orange drink.

Another pillowcase for the present stash. . .
