Beach Bag Size Tote

I LOVE this tote. I love the size, the "fabric" (towels from Target) and everything about it and can't wait to start using it. I got the general idea from Film In The Fridge.

I added an extra pocket and put some interfacing in it too. Now if we could just have some beach weather around here!

Magazine Bag

Last year, at Walmart, I found placemats that I decided I wanted to turn into a bag. I finally decided it was time and made a little tote for my reading material to take in the car or outside while the kids are playing. I let Miss A pick out the ribbon from my stash, what was I thinking I knew she would pick out the pink one :) I think it will be replaced when I find something I like a little better.
Tonight I started a fabric tote bag and layered/pinned a qulit for quilting.

Easter Decorations

I finally decided it was time to get out my Easter decorations and I found this carrot I made last year. It was one of my first sewing adventures. I followed this pattern.

Wonky Log Cabin

I have been working on this scrappy/wonky log cabin (not really as wonky as I wanted it) It is mostly all blues with a few spashes of some light colors. I have all the blue blocks done and I ran out of the tan color so I need to get some more.

Birthday wishes. . .

Happy Birthday to Hobby Mommy!

I filled up a basket full of cherry things for her. Black cherry tea, paper with cherries on it, cards that I stamped cherries on. It was fun putting it all together.

Have a great birthday Hobby Mommy!

Spiderweb Quilt

I first saw this Spiderweb quilt on Crazy Mom Quilts. The pattern is here. I have really enjoyed working on this one. I can't wait to get more squares done so it starts to make the spider web design.

My machine is off for a cleaning. Hopefully they fit it into their schedules the beginning of the week. Tonight I am having a group of gal pals over for cardmaking and some yummy desserts.

Order arrived

I ordered a few things from Connecting Threads for a birthday present and ordered myself this happy pile of fabric. The fabric is from their Riviera collection and a few extras.

Shamrocks

We made shamrocks today.
A good lesson in mixing colors and combining shapes.

When they dry Miss A can cut them out and we can hang them up.

A Few Projects I Did. . .

Rainy, yucky weather with Daddy around equals plenty of sewing time.

I won't complain too much at least it isn't snowing and the temperatures are quite pleasant.
I made some more baskets to add to the present stash. I can see these filled with special goodies for each person. So if you a friend or a relative maybe you shouldn't look . . . just in case :) And they are all made from those grab bags of fabric I just picked up for cheap.

Then I tried out this tray basket pattern I found - bad picture :( - but super easy - just what I like!

I also had some pumpkin/fall fabric in my grab bags, so I made up a few coasters, just boring squares, but I didn't want to cut apart those cute pumpkins.

Tonight, we are having friends over for a turkey dinner. Not too much fun cooking a big dinner when only 2 adults are eating but when there are 8 people involved - yummy!

First Bag

This is another one of the first projects I made with my old machine. Overall I like it. It is too small for all the stuff I usually take with us on day trips. Sometimes it comes to the library with us or to the zoo. But it mostly just hangs in our entrance way.

Someday I would like to try and make a bigger tote bag, but I haven't found one that I really like yet.

A Few New Fabrics. . .

I got a chance to sneak out to a fabric store this weekend and pick up a few new pieces.
Then I got another "grab bag" of fabric.

I hope to spend a few hours sewing this afternoon while Miss A is at preschool and Mr P is napping - wish me luck!
