Chocolate Chip Dip

I make this dip often for parties and get togethers. Last night Miss A asked me to make it for her because I only ever make it for other people :) So I whipped up a batch for Miss A last night.

2 TB brown sugar
1 block of cream cheese
1/2 cup butter ( room temp)
1/4 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Combine cream cheese and butter, add brown sugar, vanilla, powdered sugar- Mix. Fold in chocolate chips.

We mostly just eat this with pretzels (the whole chocolate and salty thing - YUMMY) but you could also serve it with graham sticks, vanilla wafers, apple slices.

Working on this. . .

I have been working on this coin quilt. This one is a baby size but I have enough coins to make a lap size (which was my original intent!), just haven't got around to doing it yet. I thought I would start out with the smaller/easier one! I haven't been in my sewing room this week. We have been enjoying the nice weather. Last night we had the opportunity to take the little ones to a fish hatchery. They got to use big nets (with the help of daddy) to get the fish out and put them in traveling tanks. Then we went to local streams and released them. They had so much fun. I wish I would have had my camera the looks on there faces. . . especially when the fish were splashing their faces.

The Quilt Company

On Friday my hubby took me to The Quilt Company. What a great store and everyone was soooooo friendly. Karen Montgomery is the owner and she designs fabric for Timeless Treasures. She is also featured in the Quilts and More magazine this month with her All Squared Up Quilt.

Here are some of the fabrics I picked up. . .

Egg Shells

Today, while I was busy getting things ready for Easter tomorrow, I sat Miss A down with some eggs shells and glue and she made some pretty flowers. . .

More eggs. . . and cupcakes

Last night we started making these eggs. The day before when decorating eggs it was" Be careful, they will crack if you drop them." Last night it was "Drop them, crack them, have at them!" The kids had a blast! And the results - stunning!

I saw a link for these jelly donut cupcakes at Just Becuse I Am Me. They sounded yummy so I had to try them. Remember I am baking challenged. Something ALWAYS happens. Well this time my hand mixer broke right in the middle of mixing. So I mixed the rest by hand. I am not sure if they turned out the way they are suppose to but they were yummy the way the came out :)

A day of decorating. . .

Today we finished decorating cookies. . .
we used candy corn for our duck bills.
and mini marshmallows for our bunny tails (I cut marshmallows in half)

We also decorated our eggs

Projects to do. . .

Yesterday we kept busy by making egg garland out of coffee filters. We cut the shape of and egg, then colored them. . . sprayed them with water and let them dry. . .

then we hung them up as garland.
We also made Easter bunny masks. . .although this bunny was acting more like a monster or dinosaur. ( Can you see all that nasty snow out the window)
